# Error 131047: 24-Hour Window Closed (Re-engagement)

> Meta WhatsApp error 131047 — more than 24 hours since the recipient last replied. Send a template to re-engage outside the customer service window.

**Error 131047** means you tried to send a free-form (session) message after the **24-hour customer service window** closed.

## What the 24-hour window is

When a WhatsApp user messages your business number, Meta opens a customer service window. Inside that window you can send free-form replies (text, media, interactive messages) without a template. After 24 hours with no further inbound message from that user, the window closes and free-form sends fail with **131047**.

## How to fix it

    Use a Meta-approved template (Utility, Authentication, or Marketing as appropriate) from Flowella or a HubSpot workflow. Templates are allowed outside the window.

  <Step title="Or wait for the contact to message you">
    Any inbound message from the contact opens a new 24-hour window. A [click-to-chat](/campaigns/click-to-chat) link makes that easy.

  <Step title="Do not retry the same free-form message">
    Retrying free-form content will keep returning 131047 until a window is open again.
